About

Mr. Ademola A. Bobola hails from Ondo State of Nigeria. He had his early education in Akure,Ondo State capital. Specifically, he attendedSt Theresa's Catholic Demonstration Primary School where he ended up as the Senior Prefect in 1975. He later attended the famous St Thomas AquinasCollege, Akure.After failed attempts to study Law in the then University of Ife, he enrolled in the University's affiliate College of Education in Ikere Ekiti with majorcourses in English and Religious Studies. He thereafter entered the then Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti and bagged Bachelor ofEducation (B. Ed) honours degree in Englishwith Second Class Upper Division. He was among the pioneer elite class of Master of Business Administration (MBA) of theFederal University of Technology, Akure in 1996, and graduated in 1998. He also studied Applied Linguistics at the prestigious Aston University, Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He won Ferguson International Scholarship to undertakethe study,and wasconsequentlyawarded Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Linguistics.

Ademola Bobola is a foundation Member of the Institute of Personal Assistants of Nigeria (IPAN). He also holds Membership of Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA)and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).He is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria. He is computer literate and quite knowledgeable in ICT which hasenhanced his work as a professional university administrator over the years.

Mr. Bobola started his working career with the the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives in the early 1980s. At various times,he worked as a public servant and School Teacher with the Ondo State Government before joining the services of the Federal University of Technology, Akure as an Administrative Officer in 1994. Sincethen, he had worked in all areas of Registry, the Office of the Vice Chancellor and higher a education system as a whole. He had undertakenmany special responsibilities within the system. He was charged withthe responsibility of pioneering the establishment of the FUTA’s Alumni Centre (now Advancement and Development Centre) in March 1999.

Over the years, Mr. Bobola has established himself as an officer who handles all duties assigned to him with total dedication and loyalty. He served as Secretary to a number of Committees and Boards in the University including but not limited to: Task Force on Environmental Sanitation; Task Force on Capital Projects Implementations; Task Force on Electricity and Water Supply on Campus; Committee on Installation of VSAT/Internet Management; Board of Computer Resource Centre; FUTA Staff Secondary School Management Board; Communications Committee; etc.

He diligently served as Secretary, University Management Committee between 2000 and 2012. He handled the assignment with a unique approach that facilitated effective follow-up actions, and fostered effective decision-making process in the University. His long years of experience in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and other arms of the Registry has greatly exposed him to the operations of various segments of the University administration.

It was therefore no surprise when he was appointed the pioneer Registrar of Mountain Top University, Ogun State in 2015. He instituted excellent administrative structures in the University such that its Registry was properly established and well positioned to effective handle its numerous responsibilities.

Upon his return to the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), he was assigned to head the Examinations and Records Unit of the Registry. He was later appointed the Acting Director of the Directorate of Establishment and Human Resource (DEHR). He performed excellently well in the position. He stood in for the Registrar while away from the University at various times; and he handled this and other assigned responsibilities with zeal and due diligence. He was later appointed the second substantive Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State where he transformed the Registry of the Institution within a very short time of his tenure.

Mr. Bobola’s contributions transcend primary administrative duties. He has contributed to book publications and has presented papers on critical areas of administration. He has played vital roles in the compilation, editing,authorship and publications of notable University documents such as:

  • University Academic Calendar (2003 – 2005; 2005 – 2007; 2008 – 2020)
  • A Compendium of Foundation Day Lectures
  • FUTA in Brief
  • FUTA’s Yellow Pages (Maiden Edition)

Mr. Bobola performs very well under pressure. He is diligent, and remains an outstanding public officer who could be trusted to excel in virtually all official assignments. He has an unusual knack for hardwork and brings diligence and finesse into all given assignments. He demonstrates high degree of integrity,uprightness, foresight, industry, maturity, dedication and loyalty. He has no case of physical or emotional disabilities. He is married and blessed with children.

Mr. Bobola has visited variouscountries where he either studiedorattendedconferences/trainings notably among which are United Kingdom (UK), Canada, Malaysia, South Africa,Ghana,Hong Kong. He assumed duty as Substantive Registrar of University of Benin, Benin City,Nigeria on 1st April, 2021.
